Hayes Man Charged In Route 17 Road Rage Incident

YORK COUNTY — A Hayes man was arrested Monday evening after firing a gun from his car during road rage incident on George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), near Goosely Road and the Tour Road overpass, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

Police were called to the scene around 4:45 p.m. and were speaking to the victim when the accused, Alexander Arquette, 30, returned to the scene. He was then arrested without incident and booked into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on Monday night.

No one was injured and the victim’s car was not damaged during the incident.

Arquette has been charged with discharging a weapon in a public place, brandishing a firearm, reckless handling of a firearm and aggressive driving according to Sheriff’s Office officials.
