WILLIAMSBURG — The wait for Water Country USA is almost over –– and water park fans that are anxious for opening day can check out the park a week early.
Water Country USA’s announced its Preview Weekend will take place May 15-16.

“Preview Weekend will be open to the public and will require a reservation,” said Cat Marshburn, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA spokesperson.
While there won’t be any freebies during the event, Marshburn noted that some of the park’s water attractions will be open to give guests an opportunity “to dip their toes into some splashy fun.”
Guests can also purchase a Water Country USA Fun Card, which guarantees unlimited visits starting May 15 through Sept. 12. The Fun Card costs $66.99. You can purchase tickets here.

Water Country USA announced that the reopening will include extensive health and safety measures including limited park capacity, temperature checks, social distancing and more cleaning and sanitation practices. Social distancing will be enforced throughout the park and in queue lines.
“Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present; we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your visit. Review Important Safety Guidelines,” according to Water Country USA’s website.
Mask use is required or recommend for common areas. However, they are not permitted in the water or on rides. You can view the entire 2021 mask guidelines infographic below:
The park plans to formally open for the season on May 22.
