You might see a snowflake (or two) on Christmas but that’s about it.

“Christmas should be a mild day for the Williamsburg area,” said Alec Butner, meteorologist at the National Weather Service Wakefield office.

On Christmas Eve, residents can expect temperatures in the 60s with “plenty of rain into the night,” he added.

The temperatures will drop overnight into Christmas Day with temperatures in the 30s for the morning and daytime hours. The rain stops on Christmas Day with no precipitation expected. It will be a bit breezy too with 15 to 20 mph winds with higher gusts.

“A chilly day for Christmas but dry,” Butner said.

While there is a “very low chance” residents will see snow on Christmas Day, Butner noted it is possible to see a few snowflakes in the early morning hours.

“Maybe you see a snowflake, but not accumulation on the ground,” he added.

The rest of the weekend will be chilly too with Saturday temperatures in the upper 40s and the low 50s while Sunday’s temperatures are around the 40s.
