Get ready for more road work. Virginia Beach city officials say it plans to start work on Military Highway tonight. The work means closing a part of the southern part of the highway.
Starting at 8 p.m. , the middle and outside lanes of northbound South Military Highway near the intersection of Indian River Road will be closed.
The right-turn lane from westbound Indian River Road onto northbound South Military Highway and one left-turn lane from eastbound Indian River Road onto northbound South Military Highway will also be closed; however motorists will be provided an alternative access to make a turn.
Warning signs will be posted advising drivers of the utility work. Area residents will have access to their properties at all times.
The work is expected to be finished by 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, weather permitting.
