
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection with the bank robbery earlier this month.
DeWayne Kendrick Handy, 54, was arrested Tuesday. He is charged with two counts of robbery, one count of use or display of a firearm in commission of a felony, one count of entering a bank while armed with the intent to commit larceny and one county of wearing a mask in public, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
On Dec. 3, the Old Point National Bank branch in the 200 block of Kiln Creek Parkway in Yorktown was robbed by an man wearing a mask.

During the robbery, Handy allegedly did not display a weapon but implied that he had one. In addition, he was wearing a white mask and a white hat. He left the bank with an “undisclosed amount of money,” authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
Handy is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond, authorities said.
