VIRGINIA BEACH — Visiting campuses in person is one of the most important steps in the college search process.

High school juniors and seniors interested in attending Virginia Wesleyan University are invited to participate in Virginia Private College Week from July 22-27, hosted by the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia.

University officials said visiting students (traditional and transfer) will receive a VWU Visit Grant applicable to tuition with a value of $1,000 upon enrollment at Virginia Wesleyan. Guests will also be entered to win a $250 Amazon gift card, and CICV will award another $250 Amazon gift card to a student who posts on social media using the hashtag #VaPrivateCollegeWeek.

Virginia Wesleyan, along with 22 other CICV member institutions, will offer campus tours and information sessions about admission, financial aid, and academic programs. Enrollment counselors will also address common myths about the cost of a private college education.

VWU offers private school quality with public school affordability, according to a news release from the university.

With an average institutional award of just under $20,000 and a total average financial aid package of approximately $33,000, Virginia Wesleyan’s grant and merit award programs—along with federal and state aid—mean that students don’t have to compromise, according to the university.

Information sessions at Virginia Wesleyan will be on July 22-26 (Monday-Friday) at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and on July 27 at 9 a.m. Register online or call 757-455-3208 to schedule a tour.
