The work was originally scheduled to begin at the end of February but the city rescheduled because inclement weather, officials said in a news release.
The demolition will now begin on Friday at 6 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday.
During the project, motorists are encouraged to use Main Street, City Hall Avenue, and Brambleton Avenue via Saint Paul’s Boulevard and Boush Street as alternate routes. Norfolk Police will assist with traffic, city officials said.
