Sexual assault center cut hours because of government shutdown

NEWPORT NEWS — The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors changed its operating hours in response to the partial government shutdown.

Volunteer advocate training and after-hours community outreach activities are suspended until further notice.

According to the center’s announcement, the center will remain open for advocacy and counseling services as well as the nonprofit’s 24/7 crisis hotline: 757-236-5260.

See the updated hours below:

Monday: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday: office closed
