Here are the highest-paid government employees in the Historic Triangle

Here’s a list of the 10 highest-paid employees in local government, according to a document obtained through FOIA requests.

The FOIA requests covered York County, James City County and the City of Williamsburg.

Salaries are per year and do not include fringe benefits.

York County (listed on the county website’s FAQ section):

  • Neil A. Morgan, county administrator: $178,500
  • James E. Barnett, Jr., county attorney: $169,830
  • Vivian A. Calkins-McGettigan, deputy county administrator: $150,302
  • Mark L. Bellamy, Jr., deputy county administrator: $149,430
  • Stephen P. Kopczynski, fire chief: $146,539
  • James W. Noel, Jr., director of economic development: $140,032
  • Brian K. Woodward, director of public works: $137,700
  • Adam A. Frisch, director of information technology: $132,881
  • D. Terry Hall, director of emergency communications: $130,667
  • David K. Gorwitz, director of human resources: $129,500

Their combined annual salaries total nearly $1.47 million.

James City County
