Election 2018: Here are the unofficial results for the Historic Triangle

Voting precincts around Virginia have counted their ballots, and the unofficial results are in.

As of 9:45 p.m., all ballots in the Historic Triangle except absentee had been counted and reported to the Virginia Department of Elections. The unofficial results show some of the Historic Triangle, especially the City of Williamsburg, leaned blue in this election.

Sen. Tim Kaine, the Democrat incumbent, won the U.S. Senate race with 55.75 percent of the vote statewide as of 9:45 p.m.

The City of Williamsburg and James City County both voted for Kaine, while 51.82 percent of York County voted for Republican Corey Stewart, according to the Virginia Department of Elections website.

At 9:45 p.m., Democrat Elaine Luria led the state 2nd Congressional District race for the House of Representatives with 50.76 percent of the district’s vote.

Not counting absentee ballots, Williamsburg and James City County voted for Luria with 71.04 and 52.75 percent of the vote, respectively, while 56.02 percent of York County voted for Republican incumbent Rep. Scott Taylor.

Rep. Rob Wittman, the Republican incumbent, led the 1st Congressional District race for the House of Representatives with 56.75 percent of the district’s vote as of 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Statewide, The Associated Press called the 1st District for Wittman — defeating Democrat Vangie Williams.

Unofficial results show 54.90 percent of James City County’s 1st Congressional District voted for Wittman.

Here are the unofficial results by locality as of 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, not including absentee ballots:

York County

U.S. Senate:

Timothy Kaine, Democrat (Incumbent): 12,255 votes, 46.20 percent

Matt Waters, Libertarian: 494 votes, 1.86 percent

Corey Stewart, Republican: 13,745 votes, 51.82 percent

Write-in: 30 votes, 0.11 percent

2nd Congressional District:

Scott Taylor, Republican (Incumbent): 14,880 votes, 56.02 percent

Elaine Luria, Democrat: 11,638 votes, 43.81 percent

Write-in: 44 votes, 0.17 percent

Special election for York County Treasurer:

Candice Kelley, Independent (Interim): 13,301 votes, 47 percent

David Westcott, Republican: 11,883 votes, 52.61 percent

Write-in: 98, .039 percent

Proposed Constitutional Amendment Question 1:

Yes: 17,114 votes, 65.52 percent

No: 9,006 votes, 34.48 percent

Proposed Constitutional Amendment Question 2:

Yes: 21,338 votes, 81.74 percent

No: 4,766 votes, 18.26 percent

James City County

U.S. Senate:

Timothy Kaine, Democrat (Incumbent): 17,457 votes, 51.15 percent

Matt Waters, Libertarian: 605 votes, 1.77 percent

Corey Stewart, Republican: 16,022 votes, 46.95 percent

Write-in: 45 votes, 0.13 percent

1st Congressional District:

Rob Wittman, Republican (Incumbent): 14,756 votes, 54.90 percent

Vangie Williams, Democrat: 12,092 votes, 44.99 percent

Write-in: 30 votes, 0.11 percent

2nd Congressional District:

Scott Taylor, Republican (Incumbent): 3,405 votes, 46.99 percent

Elaine Luria, Democrat: 3,822 votes, 52.75 percent

Write-in: 19 votes, 0.26 percent

Yes: 20,987 votes, 63.41 percent

No: 12,109 votes, 36.59 percent

Yes: 25,749 votes, 82.66 percent

Timothy Kaine, Democrat (Incumbent): 4,502 votes, 73.12 percent

Matt Waters, Libertarian: 112 votes, 1.82 percent

Corey Stewart, Republican: 1,534 votes, 24.91 percent

Write-in: 9 votes, 0.15 percent

2nd Congressional District:

Scott Taylor, Republican (Incumbent): 1,770 votes, 28.70 percent

Elaine Luria, Democrat: 4,382 votes, 71.04 percent

Write-in: 16 votes, 0.26 percent

Proposed Constitutional Amendment Question 1:

Yes: 4,023 votes, 66.97 percent

No: 1,984 votes, 33.03 percent

Proposed Constitutional Amendment Question 2:

Yes: 5,130 votes, 85.22 percent
