Update: The City of Williamsburg has announced that its Biennial Goals, Initiatives and Outcomes retreat will now be held from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 5 in the third floor conference room in the Municipal Building at 401 Lafayette St. The retreat was originally scheduled for Oct. 10.
Williamsburg is hosting two workshops to gain public opinion on what the city’s goals should be for the upcoming two years.
Every two years, the city government sets new strategic goals for itself, which are detailed in the city’s the Biennial Goals, Initiatives and Outcomes, the city said in a news release.
Before setting the goals, the public can give feedback during the workshops about what they believe their government should be focusing on.
The workshops are informal, and attendees can arrive or leave at any time during the scheduled meeting hours.
After the workshops, there are also additional ways the public can get involved in goal-setting for the city. A public written and digital comment period is open to city residents through Nov. 8.
There are also several City Council meetings where citizens can provide opinion during public comment.

The workshops will be conducted from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 20 in the large meeting room in the Stryker Center, 412 N. Boundary St., and 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 21 in the Sadler Center Terrace at William & Mary, 200 Stadium Drive.
