Lightning sparks fire at home in Chickahominy Haven

Lightning is being blamed for a house fire Tuesday in the Chickahominy Haven area of James City County.

The second story was on fire when crews arrived around 4 p.m. at the home in the 7200 block of Osprey Drive, according to James City County fire officials.

One person was treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene, fire officials said. There were no other injuries, and the family who lived in the home escaped safely.

Units from the James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, the James City County Fire Department, the New Kent County Fire Department and the York County Department of Fire & Life Safety responded to the blaze, fire officials said.
