Colonial Williamsburg has hit the map again on TripAdvisor as one of the top 20 great summer trip ideas.

The list of top 20 places consists of locations featuring different activities for summer fun, according to the article. Each location was chosen based on the types of experiences offered that stand apart from the typical summer beach trip.

“Williamsburg is home to a diverse array of entertaining attractions and iconic historic sites that tell the story of our nation’s origin,” said Mitchel Reiss, president and CEO of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation,. “We applaud all the efforts made at local and state levels to showcase the Historic Triangle’s many attractions and strengthen the overall call to visit the region.”

The article describes Williamsburg as a location with sunny days and interests for both adults and children. TripAdvisor mentions the two amusement parks — Water Country USA and Busch Gardens — as well as the ghost tours and other historic activities offered at Colonial Williamsburg as suggestions for fun adventures.

“TripAdvisor’s recent coverage of Williamsburg and Colonial Williamsburg should compel an increasingly larger audience of potential guests to visit our Historic Area, art museums, restaurants, shops and hotels — so that we may continue to advance our critical mission of sharing America’s enduring story,” Reiss said.
