If you’ve been thinking about adopting a rescue animal, now might be the time to do so.

All adult pet adoption fees at the Heritage Humane Society have been reduced to half-price through Saturday, Aug. 18.

Here’s a breakdown of adoption costs:

  • Adult Dogs (9 months and older): $87.50
  • Senior Dogs (10 years and older): $75
  • Adult Cats (9 months and older): $37.50
  • Senior Cats (10 years and older): $25

The adoption fee covers spaying or neutering the animal, deworming, all basic vaccines, a microchip and more, the humane society said in a news release.

Heritage Humane Society aims to adopt out a record number of pets this year and hopes this week’s adoption spree will help clear the shelter, the release said.

The humane society is open every day from noon to 4:30 p.m. through Saturday. It is at 430 Waller Mill Road in Williamsburg.

For more information on the adoption event, visit the Heritage Humane Society online or call 757-221-0150.
