Do you know where your groceries come from?
You can meet food producers — including farmers, ranchers and watermen — from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 11 at the Yorktown waterfront market as part of National Farmers Market Week.
Among the items available at the market will be seasonal produce; meats and seafood; ethnic foods; jams, jellies and sauces; popcorn; honey; fresh-cut flowers and hanging plants; baked goods; and gourmet dog treats.
The market also will feature several food trucks and vendors, including B-52 Smokehouse, Kathi’s Clam Chowder, Kona Ice and Mama Barbara’s Kitchen. In addition to the food vendors, Carrot Tree Kitchens will present a cooking demonstration at 10 a.m.
Among the more than 30 vendors at the market will be young entrepreneurs selling items including featuring handmade lavender produce, gourmet lemonade, nitro-brew coffee, homemade potato chips and artisan pastries, according to a news release from York County.
There is no charge for the market, which will be held rain or shine. Free parking is available at several designated areas throughout Historic Yorktown.
