Residents of an eight-unit apartment building have been displaced after a late-night fire Saturday.

There were no resulting injuries, officials say.

James City County firefighters responded to the Woods of Williamsburg apartment building, located in the 100 block of Tilghman Court, around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, the county said in a news release.

Upon arrival, crews found fire in the building and helped multiple residents evacuate, the release said. Crews from the Williamsburg Fire Department and the James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The fire heavily damaged two units, and the rest of the building had smoke and water damage.

The American Red Cross is assisting those who have been displaced.

The James City County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
