Families can stay busy this summer with a host of activities at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science.

Three consecutive Wednesday afternoons this July will be filled with free, family-friendly activities at the VIMS Visitor Center, according to a VIMS press release.

VIMS guests can try out hands-on activities and meet creatures that live in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Docents will also be present to answer questions and help guests explore the activities.

The “Activity Days” run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 11, 18 and 25. VIMS’ Visitor Center is located at 1375 Greate Road in Gloucester Point.

The programs do not require a reservation.
