Williamsburg repeals Tourism Development Fund ordinance; sales tax to increase this summer

The Williamsburg City Council unanimously voted in favor of the $34.19 million budget Thursday at its monthly meeting and, in a corresponding vote, repealed funding for its Tourism Development Fund and paving the way for a 1-percent increase in the sales tax on most items beginning July 1. Colonial Williamsburg asks city to move Summer Breeze concert series to same venue as Funhouse Fest
