VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are asking the public for help identifying a man they say robbed a Walgreens early Wednesday.

To solicit tips, police released store surveillance photos of the suspect.

At around 3 a.m., the man went into Walgreens, 856 S. Military Highway, and “used a ruse of purchasing an item.”

Authorities said while the store clerk was processing the purchase, the “man implied he had a weapon and demanded money.”

The man left in a dark colored sedan shortly after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as standing between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 300 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, khaki pants, and white tennis shoes, police said.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have information on the man’s identity and whereabouts to call Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 888-LOCK-U-UP (888-562-5887).
