The organizers of a new fair are promising that every child will leave with a prize.
Colonial CASA is hosting its first Fun Fair in New Town’s Pecan Square on Saturday, April 21. The fair is being held in conjunction with the New Town Chalk Festival.
The dual event will offer families the chance to meet and pet baby zoo animals, get their faces painted, play games, enjoy food and draw on the sidewalk with chalk.
Adults will have the chance to donate blood.
A fair flyer promises no child will leave empty-handed.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Colonial CASA’s efforts to support advocates for abused or neglected children. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Colonial Casa trains children’s advocates, including classroom instruction and court observation, according to Volunteer Services Coordinator Mary Lou Crosbie. The advocate training process last 45 hours, and Colonial Casa continues to provide training, resources and mentorship.
The fun begins at 11 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.
