Beginning Tuesday, walkers who frequent the James City County Recreation Center walking trail may need to take an alternate route.
A portion of the recreation center’s trail is scheduled to close for repairs starting Tuesday, according to a James City County news release.
The work is expected to be completed within a week, weather-permitting.
The project will remove more than 20 sections of cracked and damaged segments of the paved trail between the recreation center parking lot entrance and the intersection of DePue Drive and Ironbound Road.
Crews will also remove underlying roots and repairing areas with new asphalt, the release said.
The pavement project stretches for a half-mile and involves about 700 square yards of trail.
