
Wirawan “Boom” Mosby, an internationally recognized expert in preventing sexual exploitation of children, will speak in Williamsburg on Monday.
The annual McSwain-Walker Lecture, sponsored by William & Mary’s Reves Center for International Studies, brings scholars, artists and others to the college to talk speak on various cultural differences between the U.S. and other countries, according to a release from William & Mary.
Mosby is the founder and director of the HUG Project in Thailand, which works to prevent and protect child sexual-abuse victims. She received the U.S. State Department’s Trafficking in Persons Hero Award in 2017 and is an official adviser to Thailand Internet Crimes against Children.
Mosby’s background is in preventing internet-facilitated sexual crimes against children, such as prostitution and pornography. She will be speak about efforts to fight sex-trafficking in Thailand and the U.S.
The lecture is free and will be on April 9 at 5:30 p.m., in room 127A of Tucker Hall.
