VDOT: Crash blocks eastbound lanes of I-64, major delays expected

Update 2:15 p.m. Tuesday:

VDOT has cleared a crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 past Camp Peary. No congestion remains.

Update 12:33 Tuesday:

The backup on Interstate 64 eastbound is about five miles long as crews work to clean up a vehicle crash past Exit 238, according to VDOT.

Update noon Tuesday:

One eastbound lane on Interstate 64 has reopened after a traffic crash past Exit 238.

Backups are about three miles.

All lanes of Interstate 64 eastbound are blocked due to a traffic crash, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation news release.

The crash is past Exit 238 (Camp Peary), according to VDOT.

Motorists should expect major delays.

Traffic was backed up about 1.5 miles around 11:45 a.m.
