York County Fire & Life Safety crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Pierpont Place around 5 a.m. Saturday after a report of an automatic fire alarm, according to a fire & life safety news release.

All four occupants of the unit had been evacuated after a smoke alarm went off, the release said.
Firefighters brought the fire under control and put it out. Damage was limited to the attic and ceiling. Fire officials believe the fire originated in the area around the ceiling fan and light fixture, the release said.
