Save some paper this Christmas and have your kids call Santa directly.
This year, children can interact with Santa during two events, Phone Calls from Santa and Breakfast with Santa. The events are put on by James City County Parks and Recreation for residents of James City County and Williamsburg, according to a release from the parks and recreation department.
Phone Calls from Santa is an event in December that allows children ages nine and younger to receive calls from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
The registration deadline is Tuesday, which allows Santa to have plenty of time to prepare during his busiest season, according to the release.
The registration forms ask serious holiday questions for the kids, such as the location of their Elf on the Shelf and asking for their track record with Santa’s previous treats.
The calls will be scheduled between 5:45 and 8 p.m. for those who have submitted a form. Specific call times are not guaranteed because Santa needs enough time to chat and check his lists.
Forms are available in English and Spanish online as well as at the James City County Recreation Center.
Parks and recreation is also offering a Breakfast with Santa, the release said. The breakfast will be held on Dec. 9 from 9-11 a.m. and will feature Santa and Mrs. Claus for photo opportunities, the release said.
The breakfast will cost $12 and provide a pancake buffet, according to the release. Children ages two and younger are free, however everyone in attendance must be registered. There is limited space, with only 100 available seats.
Registration is available online and in person at the following locations: James City County Recreation Center, Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, Chickahominy Riverfront Park, Freedom Park Interpretive Center and Satellite Services. Those interested in attending Breakfast with Santa must register by Dec. 2.
