Two dogs died and a house was damaged after a late night fire Monday in the Grafton area of York County, fire officials said.

York County Fire & Life Safety responded to the 300 block of Vine Drive in York County around 11 p.m. for a residential structure fire, according to a fire & life safety news release.

Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire inside the house and brought it under control shortly after arriving, the release said.

The home’s occupants were able to leave the structure, but firefighters found two dogs inside the house, neither of which survived, the release said.

The house sustained fire and smoke damage throughout the building, the release said.

Besides the dogs, there were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
