VIRGINIA BEACH — A Virginia Beach woman has been charged with driving drunk in connection with a crash that killed a 29-year-old Suffolk man.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday when Melissa Hancock was driving a 2011 Cadillac in the wrong direction on I-264 near Birdneck Road, according to the Virginia State Police.

Dill died at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on Sunday.

Hancock was arrested and charged with DUI maiming and driving the wrong way. She is being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond and may be charged with other crimes at the discretion of the city’s commonwealth’s attorney.
