Three local fire departments assisted in putting out a fire inside a James City County mobile home Saturday evening.
The James City County Fire Department was called to a structure fire in Heritage Mobile Home Park, located at 8810 Pocahontas Trail, around 5:15 p.m. Saturday. Crews arrived six minutes later to find fire coming from the rear of a mobile home, according to a county news release.
York County and Williamsburg fire departments assisted in fighting the blaze. The fire was under control by 5:45 p.m. and crews cleared the scene at 7:20 p.m., the release stated.
The residents were home at the time of the fire, but had evacuated by the time crews arrived. The home sustained both smoke and fire damage and the American Red Cross is assisting the occupants, the release stated.
“The cause is under investigation but is not suspicious,” the release said.
