Police were called to the Williamsburg Premium Outlets on Aug. 31 after a shopper reported a man slid a cellphone camera or a mirror under a bathroom stall in an attempt to look at him.

The two men were alone in the bathroom when the alleged incident occurred, according to James City County Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Williams.

The victim left the men’s bathroom to find outlet security, Williams said.

Security officers confronted a man whom they determined to be a suspect, according to Williams, but she said the man left the before police arrived.

Police are working to identify the alleged peeping Tom, according to Williams. The man is described as a Hispanic man in his 50s. Police say the man was wearing gray shoes, blue shorts, a maroon t-shirt and blue ball cap at the time of the incident, Williams said.

Anyone with information should call James City County Police at 1-888-562-5887.
