James City County has canceled next month’s Jamestown Jam concert due to the threat of bad weather on Friday, according to a James City County news release.

The outdoor performance, which is part of a summer concert series will not be rescheduled, the release said.

Party of Four, a “Jangle Pop” group, was Friday’s scheduled act before the cancellation, according to the release.

The last concert of the season will take place Oct. 6 and feature pop-rock act The Lone Rangers, the release said.

Parking will be available adjacent to Jamestown Settlement, behind the former Jamestown Campground building at 2205 Jamestown Road.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be permitted at the event, but no alcohol or large, plastic coolers will be allowed. Chairs and blankets will be permitted, but all items are subject to inspection prior to entrance.

Pets will not be permitted on the grounds. Only service animals will be allowed on site.

Assorted beer and wine will be available for purchase at the event. Vendors will also be present selling food and snacks.

Jamestown Beach will remain open to patrons during the concert and will follow its regular operating schedule.
