Residents young and old are invited to grab a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and have a casual conversation with officers from the Williamsburg Police Department.

The police department will host their third annual Coffee with a Cop event Wednesday morning at the Capitol Pancake House, according to a police department news release.

The event, held at 802 Capitol Landing Road, will run from 7 to 10 a.m., the release said.

“’Coffee with a Cop’ is a chance to meet and speak with your local officers, voice any community concerns and ask questions in an informal and inviting setting,” the release said.

The event is also a prime time to meet Williamsburg’s new police chief, Sean Dunn. The coffee event will be one of Dunn’s first community events as police chief in Williamsburg, Maj. Greg Riley said.

Riley said five to ten officers typically attend the Coffee with a Cop events.

Capitol Pancake House, which partners with the police department for the event, will also have a full menu available for residents to purchase lunch.
