A man who allegedly used a Walmart wall to go “number one” was apprehended by two police departments last week.

Carlton Duncan, 51, was arrested Friday and charged with indecent exposure and drunk in public, according to York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shelley Ward.

Two YPSO police officers were dispatched to the Walmart on Rochambeau Drive after reports of a disorderly subject, Ward said.

When police arrived, they found Duncan slurring his speech. Officers reported a strong scent of alcohol and found Duncan was unsteady on his feet.

Duncan allegedly urinated on the wall inside the store, next to where shopping carts are returned. Multiple shoppers were walking by as Duncan allegedly relieved himself, Ward said.

Duncan was arrested, with the assistance of Virginia State Police, and transported to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. There was no reported property damage.

According to online court records, Duncan has previously been found guilty of public intoxication, as well as oystering during closed season and unlawfully catching undersized crabs.

He is scheduled to appear at York General District Court at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.
