Update 4:22 p.m.: According to Bonita Billingsley Harris, spokeswoman with Dominion Energy, power was restored at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Nearly 100 York County residents were without power Wednesday after a vehicle snagged a cable over Ella Taylor Road and broke a utility pole.
According to county spokeswoman Gail Whittaker, maintenance workers fixing a sewer line in the area called to report the damaged pole.
The workers believed a truck or moving van caused the damaged, Whittaker said.
Whatever vehicle damaged the pole, it was large enough to snag on a cable attached to it, said Bonita Billingsley Harris, spokeswoman with Dominion Energy.
Harris said the damage to the pole knocked out power to 97 customers around 9:30 a.m.
Crews were called to the scene to restore power, which Harris estimated would be by 6 p.m. Wednesday. But Dominion’s online outage center states it could be as late as 8 p.m.
A county alert said cable and phone service were also out in the area.
