Police are investigating after a Ford’s Colony homeowner reported a man was knocking on her windows at night.
The 68-year-old woman told police July 20 that an unknown man had knocked on her windows the previous five nights, James City County Police spokeswoman Stephanie Williams said.
The woman had a 50-year-old female guest at her house, located on Muirfield, when the incidents happened, she told police.
The woman said both she and her guest saw a 50- or 60-year-old man with sandy blonde hair approach her house between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. every night, Williams said.
The incident is classified as a “peeping Tom” on a police incident report.
“We encourage people to keep doors and windows locked, and call 911 is they see or hear anything suspicious,” Williams said.
Williams added the James City County Police Department offers free security assessments of homes and businesses in the county. During the assessment, officers will discuss ways residents can better protect their homes and businesses.
