A 19-year-old man is facing several felonies after police say he fired several rounds at a house during a small party.

Williamsburg Police have charged Devante Isaiah Foster with four counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and one count of gang participation, according to police spokesman Maj. Greg Riley.

Police responded to several reports of shots fired in the 500 block of Capitol Landing Road around 11:20 p.m. July 14, Riley said.

Officers arrived to discover a house, which was hosting a “small party” at the time of the shooting, had been hit by several rounds, Riley said.

There were no injuries from the shooting, and residents were not able to give a description of a suspect or a vehicle, police said.

Foster was arrested Tuesday on charges unrelated to the shooting, Riley said. Court records show Foster was charged with possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.

On Wednesday, police charged Foster in connection with the shooting. Riley said a handgun found on Foster’s person during his arrest Tuesday was linked to the shooting on Capitol Landing Road.

Foster is scheduled to appear in the Williamsburg-James City County General District Court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1 to confirm his attorney arrangements.
