Update 3:30 p.m.: The scene has been cleared, according to an alert from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
A tractor trailer without an engine caused a traffic snarl near Exit 238 of Interstate 64 East in York County Wednesday afternoon.
According to Paula Miller, spokesperson with the Virginia Department of Transportation, the tractor trailer lost its motor while on the interstate and another truck had to be brought in to tow the tractor trailer off the highway.
No injuries were reported, Miller said.
At 2:12 p.m., the east right lane and right shoulder near Camp Peary were blocked and traffic was backed up about three miles.
