NORFOLK — The relocation of a large boating marketplace company’s headquarters from Norfolk to Miami will result in the loss of 72 local jobs, according to a warn notice.
Boats Group, the owner of Boat Trader, YachtWorld, boats.com, Cosas De Barcos and YachtCloser, announced the move earlier this month.
More than 25 percent of Boat Group’s customers are located in Florida, according to a release from Boats Group.
“We are thrilled to start Boats Group’s new chapter in the heart of South Florida’s vibrant boating community,” wrote Sam Fulton, CEO of Boats Group, in the release.
This relocation comes after Apax Partners acquired Dominion Marine Media, who were then rebranded as Boats Group.
A representative from Boats Group was not immediately available for comment.
