UPDATE: Police locate vehicle of missing Hampton mother, daughter in Newport News

UPDATE 5:00 p.m. Sunday:

Police have found the vehicle a missing mother and child were believed to be traveling in, but still have not located the woman and infant, police said.

Police located a black 2013 Kia Optima in the City of Newport News Sunday, which police were seeking in connection to the disappearance of Keir Johnson and her daughter, Chloe, according to a Virginia State Police news release Sunday.

They have been missing since April 30, police said.

Both the infant and mother are considered to be in “extreme danger” and may have been abducted by an unknown man, according to an Amber Alert on Thursday.

An Amber Alert was issued for a missing Hampton infant and her mother, according to a news release.

Chloe Johnson, a 9-month-old, and her mother Keir Johnson have been missing since April 30. The two were last seen in the 1900 block of Hastings Avenue in Hampton around midnight.

Police believe that the two have been abducted by a man.

Johnson’s family released a video last week pleading for their return.

Officials say that Johnson was last seen driving a black Kia Optima with Virginia tags, VAW2197. She was wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt and glasses, according to family members.
