A 66-year-old James City County man died after a car accident early Monday morning, police say.
James City County Police responded to a vehicle crash in Ford’s Colony around 7:36 a.m., according to a James City County news release.
Dennis Francis Shea was driving on Williamsburg West Drive near Westbury Hills when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the release said.
The impact caused the vehicle, a 2005 Volvo sedan, to spin around and land on the edge of a pond, the release said.
Shea was pronounced dead at the scene.
James City County Police believe speed may have been a factor, the release said.
