Motorists driving after dark in James City County should expect delays as the Virginia Department of Transportation begins night work along Jamestown Road starting Sunday.
VDOT is set to begin a milling and paving project between Humelsine Parkway and Jamestown-Scotland Ferry dock.
Crews will be working between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for two to three weeks depending on weather conditions, according to a VDOT news release.
The work will reduce travel on the road to a single lane with alternating traffic.
Roadwork will begin at the Jamestown dock and continue toward Route 199 until finished, with daytime signal work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the intersection of Sandy Bay Road and Jamestown Road.
