For locals and tourists alike, the Historic Triangle offers a myriad of opportunities to view fireworks during Fourth of July celebrations.
So prepare to bust out your stars and stripes, put on your red, white and blue, and get ready to celebrate Independence Day in style. Below is a break down of fireworks displays around the Historic Triangle:
Busch Gardens
This Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Busch Gardens will be offering nightly fireworks displays starting around 9:30 p.m.
On Sunday and Monday, park goers can enjoy a picnic during the day that includes American staples such as barbecue ribs, fried chicken, hot dogs, corn of the cob and more.
During all three days of Busch Garden’s Fireworks Spectacular, visitors may also view the fireworks during a 75-minute cruise on the Rhine River boats, starting at 9:05 p.m.
Colonial Williamsburg
On the Fourth of July, Colonial Williamsburg will be holding its annual fireworks display that can be viewed from Market Square of Palace Green.
Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. and will last until 9:35 p.m., at which point those in attendance can enjoy a torch-lit Fifes and Drums march from Palace Green, down Duke of Gloucester Street, and ending on Botetourt Street.
While the fireworks are free to attend, those interested may purchase VIP tickets — $85.95 for ages 11 and up and $50.95 for ages 3 to 10 — that guarantee front-row seating for the Palace Green fireworks and a personal escort from the Fifes and Drums.
The VIP ticket also includes access to children’s games and activities, as well as a cash bar, a dinner buffet at the Williamsburg Lodge and live music, all of which begins at 4 p.m.
Yorktown
The 37th annual Yorktown Fourth of July fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. The best viewing area is along the Yorktown waterfront.
Visitors are urged to arrive in Yorktown before 6 p.m. for the fireworks show, due to expected heavy traffic. Free parking will be available on the Battlefield at the corner of Cooke Road and Ballad Street starting at 4 p.m.
Leading up to the fireworks display, which is free to attend, those in attendance may enjoy a Sounds of the Liberty Bell Ringing Ceremony at the Riverwalk Landing Stage at 7 p.m., a performance by the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command’s Brass Band at the Riverwalk Landing Stage at 8 p.m., as well as food and beverage from a number of Yorktown restaurants.
