York County Seeks Volunteers for Safety Town

YorkCountyLogoYork County Parks, Recreation and Tourism is looking for 60 volunteers to help work at Safety Town.

Anyone “middle school age and up” can volunteer for Safety Town, a community-based project designed to introduce and teach young children various aspects of life safety including traffic safety, fire safety, home safety and personal safety.

Volunteers are needed to serve as leader assistants, which are responsible for helping staff leaders monitor and supervise an assigned group of eight to 10 children.

Anyone who registers to volunteer will work 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. Volunteers will receive a Safety Town shirt and recognition at the weekly Completion Ceremony, which is held on Fridays.

All volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation and are expected to commit to at least one entire week of the program.

The deadline to register as a volunteer is Friday. For more information or to register, click here.
