The outage was caused by a truck snagging the wire.

Dominion Virginia Power crews are working to restore power to thousands of customers after a piece of construction equipment struck and damaged a power line on Capitol Landing Road in the City of Williamsburg.
A contractor working on site near the Country Hearth Inn on Capitol Landing Road damaged the line around 1:30 p.m., said Eric Stone, a spokesperson for the Williamsburg Fire Department.
No one was injured, and the area is considered to be safe for pedestrians and commuters, Stone said.
Dominion crews found a downed power line when they reported to the scene, said Bonita Billingsley Harris, the utility’s community/media relations manager. Investigation into the cause of the outage is ongoing.
More than 2,400 customers in the City of Williamsburg and James City County – largely in the area of Capitol Landing Road, Merrimac Trail and parts of Colonial Williamsburg – have been affected, she said.
Dominion estimates power will be restored by 3:30 p.m.
