After a search yielded more than $14,000 in cash and about a pound-and-a-half of marijuana, James City County Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in his home Tuesday night.
Rashad Fitz Byrd, 27, of the 200 block of Sand Drive West in Toano, has been charged with felony possession with intent to distribute more than ¼ oz. but less than 5 pounds of marijuana.
The Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force and the JCCPD SWAT team executed a search warrant at the house around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Byrd was present for the search in which authorities seized the cash and drugs. After his arrest, he was taken to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. Byrd has since been released on a $4,000 bond.
