The vice chairman on the York County Board of Supervisors said two terms is enough for him.
George Hrichak said Tuesday he is not planning to run again for District 4, which encompasses parts of Grafton, Harwood’s Mill and Dare.
“When I ran eight years ago, I said I believed in term limits,” the Republican said. “I believe there are plenty of smart people in the county, and they should be given the opportunity to run.”
The District 4 representative was recently elected vice chairman for the second time in his tenure. Prior to being elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2008, he chaired the York County Republican Committee for eight years.
Meanwhile, local CEO Jeff Wassmer recently announced his candidacy for the District 4 seat.
Wassmer, a Republican, serves as chief executive officer of Spectrum and said he wanted to focus on quality of life, fiscal accountability and a respectful and responsive government.
He has planned a kickoff celebration for his campaign at 5 p.m. March 11 at the Riverwalk Restaurant in Riverwalk Landing, where he will be joined by former Gov. George Allen.
