Snowstorm Causes Closings for Third Consecutive Day

The aftermath of a snowstorm that came through the Historic Triangle Monday night has canceled school for a third day.

Schools

All Williamsburg-James City County Schools are closed Thursday, and 12-month employees have a two-hour delay.

All York County Schools and offices will remain closed Thursday, and 12-month employees have a two-hour delay.

Williamsburg Christian Academy will be closed Thursday.

Walsingham Academy is on a two-hour delay Thursday. Early care will open at 9:30 a.m.

Williamsburg Montessori School will be closed Thursday.

The College of William & Mary will open at 10 a.m Thursday.

Government

The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority has canceled its information session scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday. WATA will reschedule the session to a later date.

The  boat ramp at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on John Tyler Highway is closed until temperatures allow for a thaw of the ramp.

The Iceburg Skate Rink at Mid County Park is closed as staff works to assess the damage caused to the facility after the storm.

The Naval Weapons Station Yorktown is operating on a two-hour delay Thursday for non-essential personnel. All essential personnel will report on time.

The York-Poquoson Courthouse is closed to the public today.

Waller Mill Park will open at noon Thursday.

The Quarterpath Recreation Center will close at 4:30 pm on Thursday.  All evening activities and programs have been canceled.

Businesses:

Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Investment Group will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Activities

The Joint Base Langley-Eustis Job Fair scheduled for Thursday has been canceled.

The James City County Democratic Committee has canceled its meeting for tonight.
