A fire that started from an ember escaping from a wood-burning fireplace was put out in about 20 minutes Tuesday, officials said.

York County firefighters responded to the 400 block of Lindsay Landing Lane in the Breezy Point subdivision at around 12:46 p.m. to find a fire had started underneath the floorboards around the fireplace, Assistant Fire Chief Paul Long said.

“A unit was in the area when the call came out, so we were there within minutes,” Long said.

Two people were in the house at the time of the fire, and no one was injured. The residents will not be displaced.

An estimate on the property damage is not available.

“It’s difficult to say how much that might cost,” Long said.
