James City County Historical Commission Seeks Nominees for Preservation Awards

jcc_new_logoThe James City County Historical Commission wants to hear from people who know of a person, group or organization that has made a major contribution to preserving historic resources in the county.

The nominees will be considered for the 2015 Historic Preservation Award, which is given annually to those who have made an important contribution to preserving an historic resource through either a project or body of work.

Last year’s winners include Troop 103 for its decade of work to preserve and protect the Church on the Main historic site at Greensprings Interpretive Trail, Richard Costello for helping to relocate and rehabilitate the Norge Train Depot and Colonial Williamsburg and Preservation Virginia for a joint project to stabilize the Jamestown Church Tower.

Nominations can be submitted for anyone who has been involved in identifying, preserving, documenting or disseminating educational information about historic buildings, archaeological sites or other historic resources in the county.

The nomination forms are due March 13. The forms and instructions for how to submit them can be found here.
