Two people suffered major injuries Sunday night after a car struck them on Route 17.
A man and a woman were walking southbound on Route 17 near Grafton Drive in York County between 9:30 and 10 p.m. when a vehicle hit both of them, Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said.
There is no available description of the car, and police are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run.
The victims were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
