A longtime York Street restaurant is getting a face-lift.
Bourbon Street Bar and Grille, located in the Clarion Hotel Historic District at 351 York St., is being taken over by Daddyo’s Tavern, a Norge-based restaurant.
Beginning Feb. 1, Bourbon Street Bar and Grille will be rebranded Daddyo’s at Bourbon Street.
C.K. Pritchard, who owns and operates Daddyo’s Tavern, said she was approached by the hotel in December to assume operation of the York Street restaurant’s location.
“They liked the concept we have in Norge, and we wanted the same concept on the other side of town,” she said.
Part of that concept, Pritchard says, is connecting with locals.
“If you walk into [the] Norge [location], it’s a classic ‘Cheers’-type place — everyone knows everybody,” she said. “Without the locals, you don’t have anything.”
Pritchard said the new location would operate with the classic Daddyo’s menu, and would continue Bourbon Street traditions like karaoke nights.
The new restaurant will also feature live music.
Pritchard said Daddyo’s at Bourbon Street would have a soft opening Sunday in time for Super Bowl festivities. She said a grand opening would be held March 7, and would be open to the public.
“We love locals,” she said. “The entire plan is for everyone to go and have a good time.”
